International Higher Education of Taiwan Innovates And Enters a New Era.!
Officially approved by the Ministry of Education, the first dual-degree EMBA class organized and offered by National Taipei University of Technology and the University of Texas, Arlington, embraced its first semester’s opening ceremony on September 24th. Meanwhile, it became the first officially successful cross-border educational cooperation for an international dual-EMBA-degree program in Taiwan. It also set up a milestone on attracting international education resources to make cooperation academically and of degree programs and on recruiting more international students for Taiwan as well.
The opening ceremony’s participants include the vice president of NTUT, Dr. Lin, the Dean of the College of Management of NTUT, Dr. Weng, the Chief Executive of the EMBA program of NTNU, Dr. Geng, the VP of the Business School of UTA, Dr. Himarios, the director of the UTA-EMBA program, Dr. Hsiao, and all this dual-degree EMBA program students.

Length of studying for this dual-EMBA program is 18 to 24 months. Class meetings occur on weekends in Taiwan approximately once every 6 weeks. Once completing all the required course credits of UTA and NTUT and a Master thesis requiring by NTUT, the students will officially get both EMBA diplomas from NTUT and UTA.

UTA is ranked 126th in the 2016 US News &World Report-Global University (USA) and 82nd in part-time MBA programs of the Business Schools in the United States. NTUT stands on the 4th place in enterprises’ favorite graduate schools, heads the list of enterprises’ favorite universities of technology and comes in second in enterprises’ favorite undergraduates.

Says Dr. Hsiao,the director of UTA-EMBA program, the program courses are taught by professors from UTA and the students in Taiwan take exactly the same courses as the students do on UTA campus in the United States. Besides, the students in Taiwan have opportunities to share classes, to exchange and to have visiting activities with other UTA-EMBA students on UTA’s campus in the United States, at Tongji University in Shanghai, Jiaotong University in Xian, and the University of Science & Technology Beijing as well.
